Guide to Google Ads.

 Registering for a Google Ads Programme allows you to target your advertising on specific web sites and web pages which are relevant to your product. You only pay per click i.e. per visitor to your web site. With Google Ads you specify a maximum bid price per click for specific targeted pages and a maximum budget per day. The Google discount mechanism will set your payment per click at one US cent above the price per click necessary to secure that your ad appears on the targeted page up to your specified bid price. Your ad will appear on the targeted page unless all slots are taken by higher bidders or your budgeted hits have been reached. On the pages of there are a considerable number of Google Ad slots available so advertising on such pages will be quite cost effective - particularly during this early build up period.

How to get started ?

1. If you are not already a member of the Google Ads programme then click on the following "Target your ads.

2. Once you have joined the Google Ads programme you can set up as many programmes as you like - both in respect of targeted pages and using keyword triggers. Targeting specific pages and groups of pages will provide more control over where your ads will appear and perhaps provides a good introduction to see how Google Ads are working for you. The Google Ads system will provide extensive statistics - easily customised - to enable you to evaluate the effectiveness of your ads programme.
