New image for the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Palma International Boat Show
The event, organised by Fires i Congressos de Balears, is being held at the Moll Vell in Palma from 26th April to 4th May
The Palma International Boat Show will celebrate its twenty-five years with major modifications in the exhibition area which will allow a new form of organisation, improving the technical requirements of the event as well increasing the size of the site. Owing to requests from exhibitors for more space, the organisers of the Palma International Boat Show have begun a project aimed at considerably enlarging the setting within two years. This year will already include novelties such as the incorporation of the dry dock of the Fisherman’s Association of San Pedro/ Cofradía de Pescadores de San Pedro. This measure will signify gaining 1,200m2 more of dry area and a new pontoon that will be able to accommodate up to 25 boats. However, the inclusion of this area into the exhibition site is not only beneficial owing to the increase in space that it signifies, but also because it enables the creation of a new entrance to the Show that will be located opposite the Es Baluard Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, and will admirably communicate the Show with the centre of the city. Furthermore, this entrance will have the service of authorisation for professionals, just as at the main entrance. Another of the novelties in the organisation of the site is focussed precisely on the main entrance, traditionally situated in front of the Port Authority building. This year, the entrance will change location and the marquee will be installed in the car park of La Lubina enabling a new area for exhibiting to be acquired, plus an entrance that is more suited to the technical requirements of the Palma International Boat Show. The organisers hope next year to be able to complete the project for the growth of the event with the incorporation into the site of the Muelle de Consigna, which will signify the inclusion of a new mooring space for boats of greater length, being able to accommodate approximately twenty super yachts. The Palma International Boat Show, which will be held at the Moll Vell Exhibition Site in Palma from 26th April to 4th May, 2008, will be blowing out the candles for its twenty-fifth birthday in robust health as the event has demonstrated itself to be a reference point for fairs in this sector and is the one that fires the starting pistol to get the sailing season under way. The management maintain that the marketing of the show is acceptable, and that promotional work for the event that has been undertaken at the major European nautical fairs has given excellent results.
