Summary Pre Boat Show Report 2008. Updated 11-04-2008 Some Previous Boat Show Images. Palma International Boat Show 2008 will again take place in the Moll Vell / Muelle Viejo / Old Port area of the Port of Palma against the backdrop of Palma's magnificent gothic cathedral. The show will take place between 26th April and 4th May and will be open each day between 10 am and 8 pm. In response to strong demand from exhibitors the exhibition area has been increased to 5,200 M2 and an additional 25 moorings provided ( increased from 320 to 345 ). As in previous years a wide range of leisure craft will be presented - from kayaks and small runabouts to a number of large superyachts. Again a wide range of support services will be in attendance - from electronics, navigation equipment, chandlery to insurance, financial services, moorings brokerage to nautical leisure wear and protective clothing. The largest craft on display will be the Taiwan built Johnson 105. Designed by the renowned English naval architect Bill Dixon this 32 mtr long superyacht boasts four double cabins with en-suite bathrooms, a spectacular master stateroom and totally separate crew quarters for four persons. So break open the piggy bank - for a mere 5M euros ( depending on fittings ) you can sail away in this magnificent motor yacht. Other superyacht offerings include the Bandido 75 (27 mtrs), the Sanlorenzo SD92 (27mtrs), the Marlon Explorer 78 ( 23.5 mtrs ), the Johnson 77 ( 23.5 mtrs), the Joyce 78 ( 23 mtrs ) and the Elegance 90 ( 22 mtrs ). For those of us who's piggy bank will not stretch to the Johnson 105 there will be a very wide range of smaller craft on display. Some 42 makes of motor boats will be on view ranging from 6 to 21 mtrs including offerings from Elegance, Fairline, Riva and Princess. Fairline will have a 10-boat line up including the award winning Fairline Targa 38 sports cruiser. Menorquin Yachts will again be displaying their luxury versions of traditional Balearic wooden llauts with the Menorquin 145 (13.99 mtrs) and some smaller models. For sailing enthusiasts some 12 makes will be on display from the 9.5 mtr Latitude Tofinon 9.5 to the 16.3 mtr Solaris 53 DS.
